Thunder and Lightning at Fort Collins Startup Week

The week of May 20th brought golf-ball sized hail and the threat of tornadoes to the Denver area. While many hunkered down to sit out the storm, entrepreneurs and visionaries gathered for the inaugural year of the Fort Collins Startup Week, produced by Chris Snook, entrepreneur, author & venture catalyst. Fort Collins Startup Week is a celebration of everything entrepreneurial in Northern Colorado from leading edge technology to social innovation.

Startup_Week_FCInnovators from across the state and a few from across the globe, all gathered to collaborate, get fresh ideas, and hear from leaders in the startup industry. Cloud Elements was excited to participate and honored to be invited to facilitate discussion in two sessions.

Cloud Elements CEO & Co-Founder Mark Geene presented on Lean Product Management for Startups. Mark shared his wisdom on how to drive new product integration in an agile, lean and efficient manner.

Cloud Elements Co-Founder Gary Gaessler also participated in a discussion entitled Scaling a Development Team- Issues, Opportunities, and Codetrotters.

The discussion was held by local industry leaders- Michelle Hadwige with COIN, Monica Coughlin with OIT Colorado and was facilitated by international industry leader Sofía Stolberg, CO-Founder of Piloto 151, Puerto Rico’s first coworking space and growth platform for entrepreneurs.

Fort_Collins_StartupThe group discussed the unique relationship between Colorado and Puerto Rico, and how locally growing technology companies can leverage offshore pricing and tax advantages.

Cloud Elements was thrilled to be a part of the first ever Fort Collins Startup Week, and looks forward to many more opportunities to network with and provide support to the Denver front range startup community.
